Benchmark Aviation Consulting was established by Ron Turnbull, Founder and President. Ron brings to the organization over 35 years of corporate aviation experience, both in the cockpit and in management positions.
Starting his career as a Marine helicopter mechanic Ron quickly became passionate about aviation. After the Marine Corps Ron flew for a Fortune 100 company for more than 30 years, operating mid range domestic and long range international aircraft. Ron offers tremendous insight into these areas of fixed wing operations. In addition, he is helicopter rated with 25 years of corporate experience operating numerous helicopter models in the Northeast United States.
As an FAA Airframe/Powerplant licensed Mechanic with Inspection Authorization endorsement, Ron also has a great deal of knowledge regarding the maintenance aspect of flight operations. The combination of operational and maintenance experience that Ron has acquired over 35 years as a professional aviator makes him one of the most knowledgeable aviation experts in the country. Ron is an accredited auditor for the Air Charter Safety Foundation and the International Business Aviation Council for IS-BAO registration. He has extensive working knowledge of SMS requirements and the IS-BAO culture necessary to meet these stringent criteria. Ron has conducted audits and reviews world wide and extensively in the United States, Canada, and Africa.
